GENERAL DATA

The busbar is manufactured in accordance with CEI EN 60439/1 - 2, IEC 529, CEI 20/22; it has CESI Conformity Certification.
The busbar casing is manufactured from hot-galvanised steel sheet in accordance with EN 10142 regulations, and is 0.8 mm thick; it is also available in a painted finish.
The beam configuration of the section gives the structure excellent rigidity; the casing also acts as the earth conductor and guarantees electrical continuity along the entire run.
The conductors are in electrolytic copper ETP 99.9 UNI 5649/65 insulated along their entire length by a rigid self-extinguishing PVC sheath.
The HL line is compatible, without declassification, with Class 3 electromagnetic environments as defined in the CEI EN 61000-2-4 (CEI 110-27) regulation.
The current rating of the HL has been designed and tested for an average daily temperature of 40 °C.
Due to the rigidity of the installed system (including straight lengths, end feed units and flexible joints) the system will tolerate possible over currents of 1.4 times higher than the nominal current for period up to 15 minutes.
High mechanical loads such as the suspension of heavy luminaires, some misaligment of the busbar trunking or vibration of the run can also be tolerated.
The Degree of protection of the line is IP55.

Straight lengths:
Straight length are 3 m and 1.5 m long and have a tap-off point every 1000 mm on one or both sides (double bar version).
Due to the high mechanical strength and rigidity of the casing the fixing centres of the brackets if required may extend to 6 metres (attention should be paid to the application points of any loads - luminaires etc.).
The jointing of the lengths is made by simply pushing the two lengths together making the electrical and mechanical joint simultaneously; the tightening of a single screw completes the joint and guarantees the earth continuity (PE).
The electric contacts of the joints are silver, and steel springs maintain integrity of the contact pressure at the joint.
The HL Line is available in 11 versions which differ due to current rating number of conductors and type and colour of the tap-off points.
Tap-off points are coloured to identify the circuit onto which they can be connected:

  • Grey tap-off point (on both sides for HL 2544, HL 4044; on a single side for HL 254, HL 404, HL 2542, HL 4042); only accepts grey plugs.
  • Blue tap-off point (only on one side for HL 252, HL 402, HL 2522, HL 4022, HL 2542, HL 4042, HL 2x4); only accepts single phase blue black and grey plugs.
  • Orange tap-off point (only on one side for HL 2522, HL 4022, HL 2x4); only accepts single-phase orange, brown and grey plugs.

Tap-off plugs:
Tap-offs are available in colours which indicate different functions:

  • Grey plugs: are single-phase (becoming three-phase with the addition of a further two optional contacts) and may be inserted in tap-off outlets of any colour. They are rated at 16 A (with 6,3 A fuse), and 16 A (without fuse) and are phase selectable moving or adding mobile contacts.
  • Blue plugs: are one-phase (2 contacts), having a fixed phase selection, are 16 A rated with a 6,3 A fuse and have a mechanical interlock which only allows the tap-off to be inserted into lengths which have blue tap-off points.
  • Black plugs: are single-phase (2 contacts), having a fixed phase selection, are 16 A rated with a 6,3 A fuse and have a mechanical interlock which only allows the tap-off to be inserted into lengths which have blue tap-off points.
  • Orange plugs: are single-phase (2 contacts), having a fixed phase selection, are 16 A rated with a 6,3 A fuse and have a mechanical interlock which only allows lengths which have orange tap-off points.
  • Brown plugs: are single-phase (2 contacts), having a fixed phased selection are 16 A rated with a 6,3 A fuse and have a mechanical interlock which only allows lengths which have orange tap-off points.

The plugs are made in self-extinguishing material V1 (UL 94) which does not propagate flames guaranteeing excellent electrical and mechanical characteristics.
They are manufactured from a plastic material which resists attack by external agents such as oils in suspension, petrol and derivatives, averagely aggressive solvents, etc..
The plastic material utilised has excellent electrical and mechanical characteristics, is non-ageining and has passed the incandescent wire test (CEI 50/11).
The contacts are in nickel copper, and guarantee excellent electrical characteristics, with high resistance to abrasion and corrosion.
End feed units:
the righthand end feed (female) is grey in colour, the left hand (male) is orange in colour. The end feed is supplied as IP 55 as standard and is complete with cable clamp for 25 mm2 cable terminals.
Flexible joint:
allows the forming of bends up to 180 deg. and to overcome possible obstacles along the run.
Accessories:
accessories available include hooks for the suspension of lamps, for the suspension of "special loads" (CEI 17/13-2), cable channels, ceiling suspension brackets, wall suspension brackets, bracket holders, etc.
